Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
Hitesh Vasudev Sachdev (sole proprietor), trading as BugLenz ("BugLenz", "we") explains here what personal data we process, why, and for how long. We process it under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
What stays in your browser
The extension's recordings (network requests and responses, console messages, user actions, ticket test plans and screenshots) are stored in your browser on your computer. They are not sent to us unless you turn on BugLenz Cloud sync (Pro) or create a share link.
BugLenz removes common secrets (passwords, tokens, cookies, API keys) before anything is uploaded, and our servers check again. Recordings can still contain personal data of the people who use the application you test, so share them with care.
What we store on our servers
Our servers run on Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, India.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your e-mail address, and your name from Google if you sign in with Google | Your account and sign-in |
| Sign-in sessions and hashes of sign-in tokens | Keeping you signed in, and signing you out |
| Your plan and subscription status from Razorpay (never card, UPI or bank details) | Knowing whether you have Pro |
| Sessions, bugs, ticket test plans and screenshots you sync (Pro), and bugs you share | BugLenz Cloud and share links |
| References to issues you created in a tracker (which issue, where, its title; never the tracker token) | Linking a bug to its issue |
| Usage counts, such as how many share links you have | Plan limits |
| Request logs: time, address requested, IP address, your user id | Security and keeping the Service running |
Payments
Razorpay processes your payment. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Razorpay's privacy policy applies to the payment, and Razorpay keeps its own records as the law requires.
AI features and issue trackers
Your AI key stays in your browser and is sent only to the provider you choose (Anthropic, OpenAI or Google), with the content you decide to send. Tokens for Jira, GitHub or Linear also stay in your browser. We never receive either.
How long we keep it
- Free share links and their data are deleted when the link expires (at most 7 days).
- A Pro account's cloud data is deleted 30 days after Pro ends.
- Usage counts are kept for 90 days; request logs for 30 days.
- When you delete your account, its data is deleted at once.
- Automatic database backups are kept for 7 days. A copy of the database is also taken before each software update and kept for the ten most recent updates, only to recover from a failed update. Deleted data can remain in these copies until they are replaced.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data, show advertising or use tracking cookies. The website keeps your sign-in only in the browser tab you use, until you close it.
Your rights
You can see, correct, export or delete your data. Export and account deletion are in the extension (Cloud → Export cloud data, and Account → Delete account). You can also write to hlearn2022@gmail.com.
